Atomex is an electric two-wheeler brand which has showcased an interesting product at Nashik, in India. Atomex revealed the A.2 electric sportsbike which has uncanny resemblance in styling to the Kawasaki Ninja 300. To the unaware, it will be quite tricky to distinguish between the Japanese sportsbike and this new electric two-wheeler. The bike was showcased in a shade of black and the Atomex A.2 has been priced at INR 1.41 lakh, on-road.

The Atomex A.2 has a 3,000W motor and a Lithium-Ion battery with 2160 wh capacity and rated voltage of 72 v / 40 ah. The battery alone weighs 21.30 kg of this motorcycle which has a gross weight of 160 kg. Atomex claims that this A.2 electric sportsbike can deliver a riding range of 135 km and gets a full charge in 1.5 hours using a standard charger and it takes just 45 minutes with a fast charger. The bike has a top speed of 110 kmph. The Atomex A.2 measures 2100mm in length, 650mm in width and 1200mm in height.

Interesting features to note include telescopic front fork, dual front disc brakes which even the Kawasaki Ninja 300 does not get and rear monoshock. In the cosmetics department, the looks are very similar to the bike from Team Green. The Atomex A.2 has a dual headlamp, clear front windscreen, rear view mirrors mounted on fairing, LED turn indicator, alloy wheels, full fairing covering the battery partially, exposed chassis components, large mock fuel tank, red accents on the handlebar area & bar end weights, split seat design, etc.

Atomex has listed 1 showroom which is in Nashik, and this seems like an ambitious project at the moment. Electric two-wheelers are yet to get mass market acceptance, and such a sportsbike which will be battery operated is rare in the Indian market. It remains to be seen what strategy the brand comes up with to make the bike available to a larger audience across India. Also, the real world performance is currently unknown…
