Ather to begin deliveries of 450X electric scooter from November 2020

Bengaluru headquartered electric mobility solutions provider Ather Energy, has announced that the brand will commence deliveries of their flagship scooter Ather 450X from November 2020. Ather Energy has confirmed that by Q1 of 2021 the Ather 450X will be seen on roads across all the 10 cities that were announced earlier and include – Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad and Coimbatore.

The deliveries will begin in a phased manner beginning with Bengaluru and Chennai and then to other cities. The brand has also announced the timelines for deliveries of the Ather 450X electric scooter. City-wise delivery timelines are as follows:-

Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune Starting November 2020
Kochi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad Starting November 2020
Delhi, Mumbai Starting December 2020
Coimbatore & other cities Starting Q1 2021

Ather has also confirmed that the brand will start test rides starting October across all markets and the brand will be partnering with premium companies across key markets to set up Ather experience centres. Ather will also be setting up its fast-charging network – Ather Grid across each city before delivery to reduce the range anxiety. In phase 1, Ather Energy plans to install 10-15 fast charging points across each city. 

In the recent past, Ather Energy announced the pricing on the Ather 450X which is priced at INR 99,000 ex-showroom, Bangalore along with a monthly subscription of INR 1,699 for the Plus and INR 1,999 for the Pro model. The 450X also dubbed as the superscooter is offered in three colour options Mint, Grey and White.

The Ather 450X comes is powered by a 6 kW PMSM motor that produces 26 Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. The battery on the 450X is a 2.9 kWh Lithium-Ion battery with a projected (Indian Drive Cycle) range of 116 km and a true range of 85 km in city conditions. 

The 450X also comes with a fast-charging system with a rate of 1.5 km per minute (0-50% SOC), 0-80% SOC (Home Charging) can be achieved in 3 hours 35 minutes and 0-100% (Home Charging) in 5 hours 45 minutes.
