Ather Rizta electric scooter – Why is it popular?

Last year, when Ather launched its first family scooter offering Rizta, the competitors were not expecting it to become such an instant hit.

With the sales data released for the FY2025, Ather has registered a total sales of 89,639 Rizta scooters, accounting for a staggering 58% share of the total sales of the company.

Meanwhile, the second-best product of Ather is the 450X, which registered a 28% share, followed by the 450S at 12%, and the 450 Apex at 1.5%.

Speaking of the Rizta scooter, it was introduced last year as a family scooter based on the 450s platform. The big and spacious Rizta immediately registered a steep growth in sales due to its feature-loaded packaging.

Ather offers the Rizta in three variants and two battery sizes, with the prices starting from Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom). The main competitors for Rizta are the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.

Our verdict

The Rizta electric scooter has created a clear pathway for the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer, hinting at the affordable product expansion lineup. Moreover, Ather’s speciality of curating quality electric scooters has also benefited customers of Rizta.
