Ather energy unveils Collector’s Edition 450x Series1 with translucent body panels

Bengaluru-headquartered electric mobility solutions brand Ather Energy, has unveiled the much-awaited Collector’s Edition of the Ather 450X, dubbed as the ‘Series1’. The Collector’s-Edition Ather 450x Series1 is a special limited-edition model that will be available to only those Ather Energy aficionados who pre-ordered the scooter before the national launch of the Ather 450X on 28th January, 2020, and only these consumers are eligible to opt for ‘Ather 450x Series1’.

The Series1 features, for the first time in India, a vehicle with translucent panels. The special feature of the Series1 scooter is that the rear panels are completely translucent, offering a peek inside the scooter. The panels come in a shade of dark tint and offer a clear view of the bespoke cast aluminium chassis visible under the seat and its trellis frame, a unique aspect of Ather scooters, showcasing the technical prowess of the company. 

Overall the scooter is finished in Gloss Black and comes with contrasting Red accents on the rear panels, side apron, rim stripes, under the seat and also features a matching intro theme and User Interface on its 7-inch touchscreen instruments panel. The Series1 sets itself apart from the existing line of colours that the brand offers – Grey, White and Mint Green. 

Like the standard Ather 450x, the Series1 will be powered by a 6 kW PMSM motor that produces 26 Nm of torque. The electric motor is married to a 2.9 kWh Lithium-Ion battery with a projected (Indian Drive Cycle) range of 116 km and a true range of 85 km in city conditions. The Series1 will also come with 4 riding modes, Warp-Sport-Ride-Eco, similar to the 450x. 

The Ather 450x comes with a fast-charging system that boasts a rate of 1.5 km per minute (0-50% SOC), 0-80% SOC (Home Charging) can be achieved in 3 hours 35 minutes and 0-100% (Home Charging) in 5 hours 45 minutes.

The brand has also announced that the deliveries on the of Series1 will begin by November 2020 in all 11 cities – Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata.

It is important to note that the initial batches of Series1 scooters will ship out with black panels and will be upgraded to the translucent panels in May 2021.
