Ather Energy sold 9,187 electric two-wheelers in December 2022

Ather Energy has posted its sales report for December 2022. The EV maker exited the year with strong sales momentum. Ather Energy sold a total of 9,187 units for December ‘22. This translates to a 389 per cent year-on-year growth. This is despite an industry dip of almost 40 per cent in two-wheeler sales. Ather’s December retail figure grew by 26 per cent over November. Most importantly, the Tier 2-3 markets continue to show strong adoption rates. This is a great indicator of EV adoption across the country.

Ather Energy Expanding Its Reach To Newer Regions

Ather is also aggressively expanding its retail footprint. The EV maker added 14 new outlets and is now present in 70 cities with 89 Experience Centres. This expansion shows retail presence in key cities. This includes Nellore, Karimnagar, Udupi, Noida, Kottayam, and Shimoga.

Ather Could Launch A New Electric Scooter Soon

With the new year turning and continued industry momentum. Ather Energy has hinted at some exciting news lined up for January. Thus they are expecting a bumper month for Ather. Ather Energy is all prepared to kick off 2023 with its community day event. We understand Ather will introduce a few products at the celebration event. Thus we might see a brand-new electric vehicle as well. This could be a new electric scooter.

Most importantly, report claims of this being a more inexpensive version of the 450X. Thus Ather might launch this new model while continuing to sell its two-model lineup. This consists of a base “Plus” model and an “X” model with enhanced specifications. As of now, there aren’t many specifics known about this event. But there’s a good likelihood that we will see a new EV on the display. And now that Ather Energy has spread its reach to other cities. The company has the resources to release a less expensive version of the 450X and appeal to a larger customer base.
