Ather Energy sold 15,256 electric scooters in May 2023

Ather Energy has released its sales report for May 2022. The EV maker’s electric scooter sales stood at 15,256 units in May 2023. This was a good 357 per cent YoY growth as compared to May 2022. For that period, the sales stood at 3,787 units. Sales had also registered a growth MoM basis. For April 2023 Ather posted a total sales of 8,182 units.

Talking of charging infrastructure as well, there are some improvements. Ather recently installed its 100th Ather Grid fast charger in Bengaluru. This will ensure convenient and accessible charging for the customers.

Ather Teases Its Lastest Low-Cost Offering – 450S

We are aware that Ather has been working on a low-cost electric scooter based on its 450 platform. Now with the reduction in the FAME-II subsidy in effect.  The 450X electric scooter line-up has just become dearer. Thus, the timing is better than ever to bring in a new low-cost product. So Ather has now finally announced a new low-cost variant named 450S. The company says prices will start at INR 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom).

Ather 450S: Range, Top Speed, And More

Not a lot is official about the 450S at the moment. But we do have some important details about the scooter. In addition to a teaser image of the handlebar, Ather has mentioned that it will get the same 90 kmph top speed as the 450X. But as of now it has not, however, talked anything about acceleration timings. Another aspect is the range, which certainly would not be equal to the 450S

Ather 450S: Price Details

With the limited offerings and reduced range, the prices for the 450S will start at INR 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom, after FAME-II subsidy). This is a good INR 15,000 more affordable than the 450X, which costs between INR 1.45 and INR 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, after FAME-II subsidy).
