Ather Energy opens doors in Mumbai, Series 1 delivery begins

Ather Energy confirmed that it has successfully inaugurated its the first-ever retail showroom named, Ather Space, in Mumbai. A year ago, Ather Energy had communicated that it has plans to build flagship experience centres to showcase its products across all the major first-tier cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune and Hyderabad. The Bangalore based electric scooter maker wants to spread their reach across India as quickly as possible and thus these experience centres are coming up thick and fast.

Ather Space is a premium facility which is aimed towards spreading information about the importance of electric vehicles. This facility will look into creating general awareness about the advantages of electric vehicles over its counterpart conventional internal combustion engines. Ather Space will look into building a strong customer base by pitching about their premium offerings like 450, 450X and the recently launched Series 1 electric scooters. The facility will also have fully torn down scooters so that the customers could learn about the electric scooters in more depth and learn the basic working of them. The connected technology and the high tech features will also be on the display and Ather will provide an interactive platform so that the customers will get to know about all the necessary offerings.

Currently, there are two Ather Space Centres which are located in Indiranagar, Bangalore and Wallace Garden Street, Chennai and with the recent one came up in Bandra, Mumbai and thus taking the total number of Ather Space in the country to 3. The manufacturing facility has been shifted from Bengaluru and is now located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu which has a capacity of producing 3,000 units in the first phase and is expected to be revamped to improve its capacity to 8,000 units in the future.

Ather Energy has got investment through various successful mega brand names like, Hero MotoCorp, Tiger Global and Flipkart founders, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal and has raised a total of around USD 102.2 million as of now. Ather is all set to take the India electric vehicle especially the scooter segment through its innovative products.
