One of India’s first e-scooter manufacturers, Ather Energy, has unveiled its latest experience centre- Ather Space at Vesu, Surat. This is the brand’s 2nd retail outlet in Gujarat after recently inaugurating its 1st experience centre in Ahmedabad. Ather Energy has undertaken this decision due to strong consumer demand for its 450X and 450 Plus e-scooters. Post the Fame II revisions, the Ather 450X costs INR 1,26,926 (ex-showroom) in Surat. Meanwhile, the 450 Plus costs INR 1,07,916 (ex-showroom).

Surat’s Ather Space

The state of Gujarat has experienced an 8-fold increase in demand for Ather e-scooters since the launch of the Ahmedabad store. Another factor for the quick rise in demand for the e-scooters is the revision of the FAME II norms. The new Ather Space in Surat will enable prospective customers to get their hands on the latest e-scooters. The new dealership will act as a convenient location that offers a dynamic, tactile, and interactive space for its customers.

Ather aims to use the dealership to educate customers about the various aspects of the e-scooter, which includes mechanical/engineering efforts. Prospective customers from Surat can book their test rides from Ather’s official website or visit the new Ather Space. Ather Energy has opened a new experience center by partnering up with the Kataria Group. Currently, the brand has installed 2 fast-charging points as part of the Ather Grid in Surat at Adajan and Magdalla.

Ather’s Future Plans

The EV manufacturer is currently one of the country’s only OEMs to invest and build its charging infrastructure. The electric OEM aims to add 8-10 more fast chargers to strengthen its charging network across the state. With the move, Ather intends to help new customers smoothly transition from ICE to electric vehicles to reduce their stress. To enhance customer convenience, Ather aims to add 500 Ather Grids by the end of 2022 across the country.

Ather also states that all-electric two-wheeler and four-wheeler customers can access their rapid charging network for free until December 2021. Currently, the brand is setting up home charging solutions for their customers who stay in apartments and building complexes. Ather Energy has also ensured to expand its retail footprint across key cities in India. With its presence set across 21 cities with 25 retail stores, Ather aims to expand to 100 cities. The brand also intends to set up 150 experience centers by March 2023.
