Ather Energy today announced that the brand will be making its entry into four more cities – Ahemedabad, Coimbatore, Kochi and Kolkatta. The brand recently launched the Ather 450x dubbed as the ‘Super Scooter’ in India and in the last month announced its entry into Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad. Ather Energy already has fully operational infrastructures in Bengaluru and Chennai.
Ather Energy claims to have received an overwhelming number of pre-orders from across the country for the Ather 450x with Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Kochi and Kolkatta leading the pre-orders. Hence the company has announced that the four new cities will be equipped with fast charging stations followed by the delivery of the electric scooters.
The Ather 450x features an LED-backlit 7-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display powered by a Snapdragon 212 Quadcore 1.3Ghz processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage that runs an Android Open Source OS (AOSP) operating system. The 450x comes with a 4G sim card and has Bluetooth connectivity features. Other features on the Ather 450x include onboard navigation, auto indicator off, take-me-home lights, over the air updates and app-based features such as ride stats, push navigation, live location and vehicle state, tracking, theft/tow detection, music control, call control, welcome lights and voice assistant.
The Ather 450x is powered by a 6kW PMSM motor that generates 26 Nm of torque coupled to a 2.9kWh Lithium-Ion battery which claims to return a projected range of 116 km (Indian Drive Cycle) and a true range of 85 km in city conditions. The 450X also comes with a fast-charging system with a rate of 1.5 km per minute (0-50% State Of Charge). The electric scooter can also be charged using a Home Charger and takes 3 hours 35 minutes to achieve 0-80% SOC and 0-100% SOC (Home Charging) in 5 hours 45 minutes.
The Ather 450X comes with 4 riding modes – Warp-Sport-Ride-Eco. The new high-performance Warp mode makes the electric scooter one of the quickest in the category and it can sprint from 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. The Ather 450x super scooter can be pre-ordered via the company website for a fully refundable INR 2500.
