Ather Energy announces its partnership with Bharat FIH. As part of this, Bharat FIH will develop and manufacture critical components for Ather scooters, thus enhancing the manufacturing ecosystem to meet the rising demand. Bharat FIH will offer a host of manufacturing services to help Ather boost its sales volume.
This includes Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assemblies for Battery Management Systems, Dashboard Assembly, Peripheral Controlling Units, and Drive Control Modules. Other than this, Bharat FIH will also manage the supply chain logistics and raw material procurement for Ather Energy. Based on the ‘Turn-Key’ model, Bharat FIH has already begun its production of the parts for Ather scooters at its facility. The partnership will play a major role in giving Ather the required boost to meet the rising demand.
Ather Energy – Past, Present and Future
Having made an entry into the EV business, Ather Energy is one of the pioneers in the electric scooter segment. The company has made significant contributions to the industry in the form of developing infrastructure, spreading EV awareness and more. Currently, Ather Energy sells two products under its name, 450X and 450 Plus. In the past 12 months, the company has witnessed tremendous growth. Given the rising demand for EVs in the market, the volume will only increase from here.
To keep up with the demand, Ather Energy is aiming to scale up its production from 120,000 to 400,000 units per annum at its Hosur facility. The target for the next three years is to hit the one million production capacity figure. In terms of charging infrastructure also, Ather Energy is making swift progress. The target is to install 5,000 fast-charging stations across the country. Ather Energy mentioned that they are making strategic investments in creating a favourable ecosystem for EVs in the country. This will help propel sales and also boost mass adoption of EVs in the country.
