Ather electric scooters could get TPMS, crash detection, tow alerts and more

Ather Energy has become the first company in India and second globally after Tesla to publish an Impact Report. By publishing the Impact Report, the technology company reiterates its commitment towards “social, environmental, and economic sustainability.” An Impact Report is a detailed analysis of the change in the ecosystem that the brand’s efforts brought in. But Ather, in the reports, also revealed some interesting future features for its electric scooters.

Ather Electric Scooters Will Get Added Features

Ather revealed that the brand would introduce advanced safety features to the range of electric scooters. These features include crash detection & SOS, tow detection, tyre pressure monitoring system, remote diagnostics, and more. The new safety features will come to Ather scooters by FY2023.

Ather Energy Sustainability Initiative

The brand also revealed that it would be installing 500 more charging points across the country by FY2022. Furthermore, the brand will aim to use solar energy as their prime source of Energy. According to Ather, the company intends to use 80% of its consumption through solar. In addition to this, the brand is also planning to increase the ratio of recycled water to total water consumption by 84%.

Ather Energy Impact Report

Aspire Impact, a social enterprise focused on impact leadership & impact ecosystem development, awarded Ather the Gold Leaf accreditation for its overall Impact Management. The assessment has been done through 250+ impact metrics, an Aspire Impact’s proprietary 4P framework. It is also important to note that Ather Energy has managed to achieve 99% localization (except cells) in the vehicle, aligning it with the Make in India policy. The brand has set high policy and governance standards in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Ather has also announced that the brand’s community has grown from 5,000 to over 14,500 members. Ather scooters have completed 40 million kilometres saving 30 metric tons of CO2. Sustainability has been the core aspect of Ather’s business, including Product, People, Planet, and Policy.
