Aston Martin is all set to launch the DB11 in India in October 2016. This grand tourer had officially made its debut at the Geneva motor show and is a replacement for the DB 9.
The car has a brilliant and unique design which is the work of art by Marek Reichman. There is ample of detailing in the body with sculpted LED headlamps and taillights. Aston Martin also claims that the hood of this car is the largest clamshell shaped bonnet which is there in a sports car. Aerodynamics have also been a main concern and the car has ‘Aeroblades’ on the side which generates drag and reduces lift. This also plays a role in directing air to the rear end of the body thus producing maximum down force.
The best feature of this car is the large size 20-inch rims which are taken from the James Bond’s DB 10 seen in the movie Spectre. The tires matched to these rims are from Bridgestone.
The interiors of this car are of the topmost and highest quality of workmanship. The leather work is innate. The car has a 12-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster and an 8-inch LCD infotainment system with rotary control and optional touchpad with character recognition, multi-touch and gesture support. The car also gets a powerful Bang and Olufson sound system.
At the heart of this supercar is the 5.2-liter, twin turbocharged, V12 engine which produces 600 BHP at 6,500 RPM and 700 Nm of torque which is available from as low as 1,500 RPM. 0-100 takes about 3.9 seconds and flat out, the car hits a top speed of a whopping 322 kmph. There is a 4.0 liter AMG engine which is also being tested in this car which may be introduced in later .
This massive amount of power is delivered to the drivetrain with the help of an 8 speed gearbox giving the driver 3 modes namely – GT, Sport and Sport + controlled from the steering wheel. The brake setup is optimal and ventilated discs do the job here.
