Ashok Leyland rolls out 1 lakh units from Pantnagar plant

Ashok Leyland has rolled out its 1,00,000th vehicle on Tuesday from its manufacturing facility in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.

Ashok Leyland had set up the Pantnagar facility in 2010 with an annual capacity of 70,000 units annually. The commercial vehicle giant plans to be a world leader in the global CV industry. This facility manufactures trucks, engines, gearboxes and axles. It is spread over an area of 200 acres and can roll out a fully-built unit every 5 minutes. Latest products such as Ashok Leyland Boss and Ashok Leyland Captain trucks are also manufactured here.

The company posted a growth of 17% last month and has also received an order for 4,000 buses under the JNNURM-II scheme.
