Aprilia SR Max 300 scooter displayed in India

Written by Parichay Malvankar

A very interesting development indeed. We know that Aprilia is seriously considering to capture the niche two-wheeler segment with their scooters and motorcycles here in India. Now, the Aprilia SR Max 300 maxi scooter was displayed at a private event to dealers in Goa. This scooter would become one of its kind, if launched in India as there is no competition.

One glace at the Aprilia SR Max 300, and you can easily notice how big it is. This could be used as a proper long distance touring scooter. While Kinetic initiated this segment with the Blaze more than a decade ago, for now, we only have the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 which is designed on similar lines. But still, the Aprilia SR Max 300 will be the biggest model on sale. If at all it does make it to showrooms.

The Aprilia SR Max 300 comes with a XL sized front windscreen, alloy wheels, large contoured seats, digital speedo console, ABS, telescopic front fork, disc brakes, tubeless tyres, generous floor board, and more.

Powering the Aprilia SR Max 300 is a 278cc, single-cylinder motor which produces 21.6 BHP of power and 23 Nm of torque. The engine comes matched to a conventional CVT gearbox as per scooter standards. With this much power, expect the Aprilia SR Max 300 to be capable of cruising at speeds above 120 kmph easily. For touring, the scooter also has a 15L fuel tank.

The important question – how well it will be priced?
