At the ongoing Indian Auto Expo 2018, Piaggio has introduced a new entry-level product under their Aprilia brand, and that is the new Aprilia SR 125 scooter. A smaller sibling to the already on-sale SR 150, the new Aprilia SR 125 has been priced at INR 65,310 (ex-showroom Pune). This scooter now rivals the likes of TVS NTorq 125, Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access.

Aprilia first introduced the SR 150 scooter in India 2 years back, and brought fun riding experience in the scooter segment. Now, the SR 125 with a lower entry price point is expected to attract a wider buyer audience.

The Aprilia SR 125 is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder, 3-valve, air-cooled, 4-stroke petrol motor producing 9.5 HP of power @ 7250 RPM and 9.9 Nm of torque @ 6250 RPM matched to the CVT automatic gearbox. The SR 125 will also be marginally more fuel efficient compared to the SR 150.

Features on the SR 125 for differentiation will include new colours, new rear grab rail & the SR 125 badge. Rest everything, including the 14″ wheels, tubeless tyres, body panels, headlamp & tail lamp remain the same.

The new Aprilia SR 125 will be available across all Aprilia & Vespa dealerships with immediate effect.
