Ampere Magnus Pro Electric Scooter launched in India at INR 73,990

While the world has come to a halt because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ampere has announced a new electric scooter for the Indian market. The brand has launched the Magnus Pro electric scooter in India priced at INR 73,990 ex-showroom. The new Magnus Pro will be sold in blue, red, black and yellow paint options. At the moment, the Ampere Magnus Pro electric scooter will be sold in Bangalore and a phased launch across other cities will follow suit. The highlight, the Ampere Magnus Pro will be able to ride 75-80 km on a single full charge.

Powering the Ampere Magus Pro electric scooter is a 60V, 30Ah lithium battery with a BLDC Vector Sine Wave controller having a motor power of 1200 Watts. The scooter has a charge time of 5-6 hours and can achieve a top speed of 55 kmph. The Magnus Pro has a max load capacity of 150 kg and has a kerb weight of 82 kg. The scooter measures 1880mm in length, 710mm in width, 1190mm in height, 1415mm in wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 150mm. For safety, the scooter has combined braking system via 130mm drum brakes at both ends.

Ampere has equipped the Magnus Pro electric scooter with an Eco mode which can boost the riding range up to 100 kms. The brand claims a 0-40 kmph sprint in 10 seconds and also claims that this EV can easily climb on flyovers thanks to the torque availability. The scooter has a telescopic front suspension and 450mm of legroom for the rider for better riding comfort. Other key highlights of the scooter includes a digital speedometer, detachable battery, under seat storage, LED light in storage, USB charger, LED headlamp, contrast seat, anti-theft alarm, tubeless tyres, limp home mode, find my scooter function, etc.

Ampere claims that the Magnus Pro will have a maintenance cost of 15 paise / km. There will be low EMI options on offer as well. The Ampere Magnus Pro electric scooter comes with 3+2 years of warranty.
