Written by Parichay Malvankar

Ampere Vehicles is not a new brand which has showed up out of nowhere, but has been silently occupying some space in the e-bikes segment in India. Now, the brand has launched two new electric scooters for the Indian market. The Ampere V48 & Reo scooters have been launched in India at prices starting from INR 38,000 & INR 46,000 respectively (ex-showroom). Both these electric scooters are powered by a lithium-ion batter only.

Max speed, only 25 kmph. So no need of registration for these Ampere electric scooters.

Both scooters are powered by a 250W brushless DC motor along with a 48V lithium-ion battery. The company claims that with a charging time of 4-5 hours for 100%, these scooters can offer around 65 – 70 km riding range. Company also reveals that they will have nearly 150 dealers across 14 states in the country and will focus primarily on Tier-2 markets and below with these scooters.

The two new scooters, the V48 & Reo have been developed completely in India with indigenous parts development. Batteries however are sourced from Taiwan & China.

Do you recall having seen any Ampere Vehicle electric scooter on the streets? We haven’t. Also, would you buy one?
