Written by Rohit Tonapi

Mahindra’s 2022 Scorpio-N is in the news again for all the right reasons. After recently announcing the prices of the 4WD and automatic variants of the Scorpio-N, Mahindra is announcing another addition to the Scorpio-N. Mahindra has announced that it will work with Visteon Corporation to bring world-class in-vehicle experiences to the new Scorpio-N SUV. Helping bring this experience will also be the 3rd Generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

Mahindra’s connected artificial intelligence (AI) technology provides the Scorpio-N with a cutting-edge driving and ownership experience. The AI utilises Visteon’s SmartCore cockpit domain controller technology. This, in turn, is based on the Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms.

The 2022 Scorpio-N features a 7-inch or 17.78 cm colour Driver Information Display. In addition to this, it also gets an 8-inch or 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. Using the AI-based Snapdragon Cockpit Platform’s scalability, the SUV provides a new level of personalisation and natural interaction between the vehicle and its driver. Furthermore, it also provides virtual assistance and ultra-HD and immersive audio and visual experiences. These are just some of the features which are available for drivers and passengers.

Snapdragon also designed the 3rd Generation Cockpit Platform to support higher levels of computing and intelligence needed for advanced capabilities in the next generation of vehicles. This helps enable contextual safety use cases for drivers and passengers. Some of these are driver monitoring, object detection, and ensuring the security of personal and vehicular data. Additionally, the platform also gets an advanced suite of wireless technologies. This enables support for multi-mode cellular connectivity, WiFi 6 and also enhanced Bluetooth technologies.

Mahindra says the company re-engineered the iconic Scorpio brand from the ground up to meet the needs of the young and tech-savvy customers. The company identified Qualcomm Technologies as the partner of choice to bring alive its vision of offering state-of-the-art products to its customers.
