All-new 2020 Hyundai Creta launched in India at INR 9.99 lakh (Photo Gallery)

The all-new Hyundai Creta has been launched today in India at the introductory price starting at INR 9.99 lakh ex-showroom, India. The new Hyundai Creta is now in its second generation and comes with a completely new exterior and interior styling. The new Creta measures in at 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width 1635mm in height with a wheelbase of 2610mm which makes it 30mm longer, 10mm wider and offers a 20mm extra wheelbase than the outgoing model.

In terms of styling, the new Hyundai Creta gets a cascading grille with a chrome treatment, separated boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL), trio LED headlamps, fog lamps on the front bumper along with a skid plate finished in silver. The new car features a lightning arch effect on the C-pillar, LED tail lamps, rear spoiler, twin-tipped exhaust, flared wheel arches and crease line on the bonnet. 

On the inside, the new Creta comes with a two-tone black and beige interiors with a layered dashboard, contoured and ventilated front seats with 8-way electric adjustments, 17.78-cm fully-digital colour driver’s display, controls mounted D-cut steering wheel with paddle shifters, a centrally located 26.03-cm touchscreen infotainment system with Advanced BlueLink connected technology with over 50 connectivity features, Bose sound system, blue ambient lighting, air-purifier, cooled glove box, wireless smartphone charging, rear window sunshade, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, LED reading lamps, front & rear USB charger, 2 step rear reclining seats etc. 

The all-new Creta is offered with five powertrain options including three engines and four transmissions. The engines include a naturally aspirated 1.5 MPi Petrol engine with 1497cc of displacement that produces 115 ps of power and 144 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or an IVT (CVT) gearbox. The second option is a turbocharged 1.5 U2 Diesel engine with 1493cc of displacement that produces 115 ps of power and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter type gearbox. The third option is a 1.4 Kappa Turbo GDi Petrol engine with 1353cc of displacement that generates 140 ps of power and 242 Nm of torque coupled to a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission). Needless to say, all the aforementioned engines are BS6 emission compliant.

In terms of safety, the new Hyundai Creta is based on a superstructure that features 74.3% Advanced & High Strength Steel and comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor, over-speed alert, seat belt reminder with pretensioner and load limiter on both the driver and passenger as standard. Top trim variants include 6 airbags, rear disc brakes, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist control, rear camera with assistive guidelines, electric parking brake with auto hold, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, burglar alarm etc.

The all-new Creta is made available in 10 exterior paint options with 8 single tone colours – Polar White, Phantom Black, Typhoon Silver, Lava Orange, Titan Grey, Deep Forest, Galaxy Blue, Mulberry Red and two dual-tone themes – Polar White with Phantom Black and Lava Orange with Phantom Black.
