All Honda cars made & sold in India are E20 compliant

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has announced that all its vehicles manufactured and sold in India are now E20 compliant. This means they are capable of running on petrol blended with 20% ethanol. This achievement underscores Honda’s commitment to sustainable mobility and its support for India’s transition to greener fuels.

Honda has been making E20 cars since over a decade

All Honda cars manufactured in India since January 1, 2009, have been E20 material compatible. This includes current models such as the Honda Elevate, Honda City e:HEV, Honda City, and Honda Amaze. With this compliance, customers can use E20 petrol in their existing Honda cars without any need for modifications or concerns about durability.

ADAS

The Government of India has mandated that all gasoline-fueled mono-fuel and bi-fuel vehicles with positive ignition engines, including hybrids, manufactured on and after April 1, 2025, must be certified for E20 fuel to comply with emission norms. Honda’s proactive approach places it ahead of this mandate, ensuring that its customers are ready for the transition to E20 fuel.

Mr. Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions. He emphasized that all Honda cars have been E20 material compatible since January 2009, allowing customers to adopt E20 fuel without needing modifications. He mentioned that this certification aligns with the Government of India’s objective to implement greener fuels, and reiterated HCIL’s dedication to leading the way as India transitions to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
