Hyundai starts a ‘Green Drive’ on World Environment Day

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has taken an initiative of a free emission check, free air-conditioner check and free dry wash for Hyundai cars on the occasion on World Environment Day to encourage water conservation and curb air pollution.

The Hyundai service centres will be running the environment camps and will establish Hyundai’s commitment towards the preservation of the environment and sustainable social development. The service camps will conduct PUC checks at select service centres, educate customers about regular maintenance of vehicles and also provide the above-mentioned free services.  

Hyundai in India has 494 dealerships and 1,319 service centres and the brand ensures a healthy work environment by practising safety methods such as using a breathing mask in processes such as air filter cleaning and in paint shops etc.

Hyundai also encourages the use of Dry wash for their cars as the method can save 120 litres of water per wash per car. Hyundai in 2017 through the Dry wash, saved 40 lakh litres of water over a 45-day campaign. The saved water was then distributed in the drought-affected areas in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Recently, Hyundai Motors India Ltd has planted the one-millionth tree at their facility which is spread across 535 acres and have a Zero discharge policy with 100% recycling of water and also employ rainwater harvesting. A 56-acre green belt lies inside the facility with flora and fauna.
