MG Motor India provides 100 HECTOR SUVs for safe travel of COVID-19 frontline warriors

Times are hard, almost everyone around the world is facing or has faced lockdown / quarantine due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic. Car manufacturers have taken a step ahead in helping governments worldwide to face this battle by providing the best help possible. Now, MG Motor India a.k.a Morris Garages has decided to hand over 100 Hector SUVs which can be used by doctors, medical staff, police and government officials. These Covid-19 frontline warriors need a safe mode of transport, and Morris Garages is willing to offer their Hector SUV for this purpose. MG Motor India will allow these cars to be used till the end of May 2020. Not just in India, but MG Motor UK will also provide 100 ZS EV electric SUVs to the NHS agencies.

The MG Hector SUVs in India will be offered free-of-cost. This does not just include the vehicle, but the brand will be providing for fuel and will also have their driver employed to perform these transport duties. MG Motor India will follow the state guidelines to handover these cars through their existing dealer network. MG Motor India recently announced their Disinfect & Deliver process, which will be followed for these 100 Hector SUVs being put for national service.

MG Motor India hasn’t announced if the petrol, petrol+hybrid or diesel variants will be deployed for this use. The Hector comes with a 1.5L, turbo-charged petrol motor producing 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque in the standard and hybrid petrol models while the diesel model comes with a 2.0L, turbo motor producing 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The MG Hector is a 5-seater SUV and also has a generous boot to allow carrying of essentials when on this duty.

Apart from providing these cars, the brand has also taken a step ahead to donate, PPE kits, surgical masks, gloves, sanitizers & sprays, food & ration kits along with health and hygiene kits to battle the Covid-19 pandemic.
