Written by Parichay Malvankar

Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the S-Presso hatchback, which would primarily be a car to the likes of the Renault Kiwd. An image has leaked online which reveals the exterior design of this upcoming hatchback from India’s largest car manufacturer. The S-Presso will be launched in India later this month. This product will be introduced as a micro-SUV, but slots in a segment below the likes of Mahindra KUV100.

The S-Presso made a debut as the Future S concept at the 2018 Auto Expo in India. The S-Presso will be bigger than the Alto and measures 3565mm in length, 1520mm in width, 1564mm in height, 2380mm in wheelbase, 180mm in ground clearance, 27L of fuel tank capacity and will ride on 14″ wheels. The S-Presso however falls a tad bit short in dimensions compared to the Renault Kwid in length and wheelbase, but is taller which will allow for a more roomy and airy cabin.

Exterior design highlights of the S-Presso include subtle body cladding all around, mildly flared wheel arches, wheel caps for 14″ rims, clean lens headlamp with smoked effect, LED DRLs, front grille with silver accents, short antenna, body coloured ORVMs, flap type door handles, flat SUV-like bonnet profile and blacked out B-pillar. The rear profile isn’t visible in these leaked images.

The 2019 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be launched with a BSVI ready petrol engine which is a 1.0L, 3-cylinder, K10B petrol engine. This motor is expected to produce power and torque in the range of 70 PS and 90 Nm matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.

The S-Presso is rumoured to be launched in a total of 4 variants. Pricing is expected to be in the range of INR 4-6 lakh.
