Honda has upgraded the City sedan with the mandatory safety updates which will be enforced from 1st of July 2019. The safety features now include an over speed alarm and a front passenger seat belt reminder. The car already came with a driver and passenger airbag and ABS with EBD as standard across all variants. Even with the added safety features, the price of the Honda City has remained unchanged.
Other than the standard features, the Honda City also comes with safety features such as 6-airbags, ACE body structure, rain sensing wipers, driver side pinch guard windows, frameless auto dimming IRVM, rear parking sensor, parking camera with different viewing angles, impact mitigation headrests, ISOFIX child seat anchorage system and immobiliser with anti-theft alarm.
Honda City had received a facelift in 2017 and the car features a sleek front end design with LED headlights on the top-end variant and LED daytime running lights and the dual barrel halogen headlamps standard on all variants. The taillights get a wraparound design with LED and bulb setup depending on the variant. The car gets a chrome grille and bumper-integrated fog lamps. The top-spec model gets LED lighting on the fog lamps. Coming to the profile, the car gets 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels on the base model and 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels on the high-end variants. The car also gets a shark-fin antenna and chrome finished door handles.
The interiors of the car feature automatic climate control with rear airconditioning vents, power adjustable door mirrors with power folding function, all power windows with a key-off time lag, lane departure turn signal, 3-ring-combi instrumentation console with Eco assist function, LCD MID, etc. The infotainment system includes an 8.9 cm integrated screen on the base model and a 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment system on the other variants. The infotainment system comes with Bluetooth connectivity and the car gets illuminated steering mounted controls with chrome bezels.
The Honda City is powered by two engine options, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol producing 119 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed manual and an optional CVT automatic. Another, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine producing 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual.
