Motorcycle enthusiasts in India have a reason to cheer as the 2025 Triumph Thruxton 400 has been spotted road testing near Pune. This café racer is expected to be launched soon in India, adding to Triumph’s growing lineup of 400cc bikes.
Triumph Thruxton 400 – What to Expect?
The Thruxton 400 takes inspiration from Triumph’s classic models from the 1970s. It features a retro semi-fairing, round LED headlight, and clip-on handlebars for a sporty riding stance. The bike also comes with a pillion seat cowl, completing its café racer look.
Under the hood, the Thruxton 400 is expected to be powered by a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, offering smooth and responsive gear shifts. This is the same setup at the Scrambler 400X and the Speed 400.
The bike boasts upside-down front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear, providing a balanced ride. It also features dual-channel ABS and front and rear disc brakes for reliable stopping power. The Thruxton 400 comes with a 13-inch TFT display, offering essential ride information.
Market Impact
Triumph has been expanding its 400cc range in India with models like the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. The Thruxton 400 is expected to be priced around INR 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an attractive option for café racer enthusiasts. While there is no direct competition to the Thruxton in the sub-400 cc segment, it could attract buyers considering the Royal Enfield Continental GT, RE 35o range, and the Honda CB 350RS.
Final Thoughts
Triumph’s 400cc platform has seen quite a success for the company. With three products launched within a year, this will be Triumph’s fourth product in this range. From a consumer point of view, Triumph is making owning a premium motorcycle much more affordable. The motorcycles are also doing well in the global markets. This success could motivate Triumph to bring more products with this platform. What could be next? A Triumph Tiger 400?
