Mahindra & Mahindra has revealed its innovative INGLO Electric Origin Architecture, which will underpin the upcoming XEV 9e & BE 6e electric SUVs. This new platform is designed with an “Electric Origin” approach, focusing on creating a purpose-built architecture for next-generation electric vehicles (EVs).
Key Features of INGLO Architecture
The INGLO platform features a lightweight flat-floor skateboard structure, which maximizes cabin space by eliminating the central tunnel and enhancing seating flexibility. This design also improves stability and handling, making it one of the lightest skateboard platforms in the EV market.
The architecture supports two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh, offering best-in-class range and efficiency. The advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery chemistry ensures durability and safety, while fast-charging capabilities allow the vehicle to charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC charger.
Enhanced Safety and Performance
Safety being a top priority for Mahindra, the INGLO architecture incorporates ultra-high-strength boron steel and reinforced frontal structures to create a protective cage around the passenger cabin. The battery is positioned at a low center of gravity, enhancing stability and handling.
The INGLO platform also features a semi-active suspension system, brake-by-wire technology, and intelligent drive modes, providing a dynamic and adaptive driving experience. The integrated powertrain delivers outputs of 170-210 kW (231-286 hp) for rear-wheel drives.
XEV 9e & BE 6e Market Position and Competition
The XEV 9e and BE 6e are set to debut on November 26, 2024, with a launch expected in early 2025. These models are the first set of born electric products from Mahindra. The form factor of the 6e hints that it will compete with the likes of the Tata Curvv.EV, MG ZS EV. and even the Creta EV once it is launched. The XEV 9e on the other hand will compete with the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the upcoming Tata Harrier EV. Pricing will be the key factor in order to see how these vehicles will perform.
