Brixton Motorcycles has made a significant entry into the Indian motorcycle market with the launch of its CrossFire 500 X modern-classic bike, priced at INR 4.74 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model combines vintage aesthetics with modern technology, aiming to attract enthusiasts who appreciate classic design along with contemporary performance.
CrossFire 500 X Specifications and Features
The CrissFire 500 X is powered by a 486 cc, parallel-twin engine that delivers 47 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and features a slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts. This setup promises a blend of spirited performance and reliability, suitable for both urban commuting and longer rides.
The bike’s design highlights include a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, retro-style round LED headlamp, and minimalist bodywork. The dual-paint scheme enhances its classic look, while the digital instrument cluster ensures that the rider has access to all necessary information at a glance. The split seats and twin exhausts further add to its vintage charm.
For suspension duties, the 500 X is equipped with KYB upside-down forks at the front and a KYB rear monoshock, both offering adjustability to fine-tune the ride quality. The braking system consists of J.Juan dual 320 mm front discs and a single 240 mm rear disc, paired with dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety.
Market Position and Competitors
Brixton’s entry into the Indian market with the Crossfire 500 X positions it against established modern-classic rivals such as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Kawasaki W800. With its competitive pricing and unique styling, the 500 X aims to carve out a niche in the growing segment of retro-inspired motorcycles.
The Brixton motorcycles will be sold under the MotoHaus umbrella which is a part of the KAW Veloce Motors based in Kolhapur. The motorcycles will come to India via the CKD route and will be assembled in Kolhapur. Deliveries will begin January 2025 onwards.
