The Mahindra Thar Roxx faces a waiting period that gets the deliveries stretched up to 2026. Customers who have booked The Thar Roxx SUV will now get the deliveries in next 9 to 15 months according to their chosen variants.
The company’s collective capacity of production is 9500 units per month. However, noticing the increase in its demand which ultimately resulted in backlog catering to its order, Mahindra has decided to moderately increase the Thar Roxx production in phases. In the second phase, it is expected to increase its production to up to 11000 units per month.
The bookings for Thar Roxx started on October 3 and during its first hour 1.76 lakh bookings were made showcasing its tremendous demand in the Market. Thar Roxx was launched in August of this year and is priced at the starting price of INR 12.99 lakh(ex-showroom) in India and comes in 18 variants.
Mahindra Thar Roxx Feature and Specs
The Roxx comes in two options that are 2 litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2 litre diesel engine both available in Manual and Automatic transmission. The diesel variant has four wheel drive. The Petrol Manual variant produces 150 bhp and 330 Nm of torque and the automatic produces 174 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The base diesel variant produces 150 bhp and 330 Nm of torque in both manual and automatic whereas its higher spec automatic only variants produces 172 bhp and 370 Nm of torque.
The Roxx is equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a Harman Kardon audio system, panoramic sunroof, LED projector headlights, DRLs, and LED tail lights. It has been provided with 19 inch alloy wheels. Wireless charging, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, a 6-way power driver’s seat, and 360-degree camera has been provided.
The Thar Roxx is a unique SUV which provides the thrill of adventure along with the comfort and features of a regular car. No wonder it has quickly become popular and has pent up booking list. However, how long would Mahindra be able to keep up with holding these bookings? Only time will tell.
