Maruti Suzuki is set to unveil the production version of its highly anticipated electric SUV, the eVX, on November 4, 2024, in Milan, Italy. This global debut underscores the eVX’s importance as a key product for Suzuki, with a significant portion of its production earmarked for export to Europe and Japan.
Global Debut and Production Plans
The eVX will be produced at Suzuki’s Gujarat plant, with production scheduled to start in March 2025. The company aims to produce 1.4 lakh units in the first year, with 50% of these units destined for export. The Indian market will get its first look at the eVX at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, scheduled for January 17 2025.
Technical Specifications
The eVX is expected to feature a 60kWh battery pack, offering a driving range of up to 550 km on a single charge. It will also come equipped with a four-wheel drive system, LED headlights, and a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The exact power and torque output of the electric motors is yet to be disclosed.
Design and Features
The eVX will sport a modern and aerodynamic design, with a shark-fin antenna, LED lightbar, and a rear spoiler. The interior is expected to feature sustainable materials and a triple display setup (12.3-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital driver display, and a 5-inch display). It is also expected to get all the modern features like Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a big sunroof, seat ventilation, etc. In terms of safety features, it is expected to come with Level 2 ADAS.
Market Competition
Upon its launch, the eVX will compete with the recently launched Tata Curvv EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV. Maruti Suzuki aims to position the eVX as a strong contender in the mid-size electric SUV segment, with a competitive price range expected to be between INR 19 lakh and INR 20 lakh.
