Tata Nexon gets panoramic sunroof on Petrol & Diesel variants

Written by News Team

Tata Motors has expanded the availability of the panoramic sunroof feature to more variants of the Nexon, including both petrol and diesel models. This move comes shortly after the feature was introduced on the Nexon CNG variant. The top-spec Fearless + PS trim for petrol and diesel variants now includes the panoramic sunroof, enhancing the vehicle’s appeal with a more premium feel.

Enhanced Features and Pricing

The panoramic sunroof-equipped Nexon variants are priced between INR 13.60 lakh and INR 15.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The Nexon CNG variant with the panoramic sunroof is available in the Creative + PS trim, with prices ranging from INR 12.80 lakh to INR 14.60 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes the Nexon one of the few compact SUVs in India to offer a panoramic sunroof across multiple variants.

Customer Appeal and Market Position

The addition of the panoramic sunroof is expected to boost the Nexon’s market appeal, especially among buyers looking for a more premium and feature-rich compact SUV. Tata Motors has also ensured that the top-spec Fearless + PS trim includes other premium features such as an 8-speaker JBL sound system and Bluetooth connectivity.

Competition and Comparison

In comparison to its direct rival, the Mahindra XUV 3XO, which offers a panoramic sunroof in its top-spec AX7 and AX7L trims, the Nexon’s price is approximately INR 11,000 to INR 1.11 lakh higher, depending on the variant. However, Tata Motors believes that the added features and overall package of the Nexon justify the price difference.

Safety and Reliability

The Nexon has been well-received for its safety features, securing a five-star rating in BNCAP crash tests. This adds to its appeal as a reliable and safe choice among compact SUVs in India.

The introduction of the panoramic sunroof on the petrol and diesel variants of the Tata Nexon is a strategic move by Tata Motors to enhance the vehicle’s premium appeal and attract a wider range of buyers. With competitive pricing and a strong focus on safety and features, the Nexon continues to be a strong contender in the compact SUV segment.
