Mahindra XUV 3XO electric SUV spotted testing

Written by News Team

Mahindra has been spotted testing its upcoming electric SUV, the XUV 3XO, ahead of its anticipated launch in early 2025. The test mule was recently seen in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from this exciting new model.

Design and Features

The XUV 3XO EV retains the familiar silhouette of its petrol counterpart but with several EV-specific design elements. The front fascia is expected to feature a closed-off grille and a charging port on the front passenger-side fender. The rear end showcases connected LED taillights and a charging flap on the front left fender. The test mule also sports machine-cut black alloy wheels, a golden-colored roof, shark fin antenna, and blacked-out pillars and roof rails.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the XUV 3XO EV maintains a dual-tone black and beige theme, similar to the petrol variant. The cabin features a 10.2-inch free-standing infotainment screen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, ventilated front seats, LED interior lights, wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, and camera-based Level 2 ADAS. The drive selector on the center console gets copper accents, adding a touch of elegance to the interior.

Expected Specifications

The XUV 3XO EV is likely to share its powertrain with the XUV400 EV, which includes battery options of 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh, paired with a front-mounted electric motor producing 150 PS and 310 Nm of torque. The smaller battery could offer a range of 375 km, while the larger one might provide up to 456 km on a single charge.

Market Impact and Customer Reception

Mahindra has ambitious plans for its electric vehicle lineup, with the XUV 3XO EV expected to compete directly with the Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV. The company aims to showcase the XUV 3XO EV at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025, followed by a market launch in the first quarter of 2025.
