Kawasaki reveals KLX 230, bookings open in India

Kawasaki has officially unveiled the KLX 230, a new dual-sport motorcycle, in India. The bike is designed for both on-road and off-road adventures, and bookings have already opened with a token amount of INR 5,000. The official price announcement is expected in December 2024, with deliveries slated to begin from January 2025.

Design and Features

The KLX 230 features a minimalist design with essential body panels to minimize damage during off-road rides. It comes with a small headlight with a cowl, a high-set mudguard, a small fuel tank, and a stubby tail. The bike is available in two colors: Lime Green and Battle Grey. The seat height is tall at 880mm, making it suitable for taller riders. It is available in two colours – Lime Green and Battle Grey.

Powertrain and Performance

The KLX 230 is powered by a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.1 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque at 6,400 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, providing smooth and efficient power delivery. The bike features wire-spoked wheels, with 21 inches in the front and 18 inches at the back, fitted with knobby tires for rugged terrains. It also comes equipped with disc brakes on both ends and switchable ABS for enhanced off-road control.
