Written by News Team

Suzuki Motorcycle India has announced the launch of its latest middleweight sportbike, the GSX-8R, with a starting price of INR 9,25,000 (ex-showroom). The GSX-8R is designed to offer a blend of sporty aesthetics and practical performance, making it an exciting addition to Suzuki’s lineup in India.

Powertrain and Design

The GSX-8R is powered by a 776cc parallel-twin engine, the same engine used in the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, but tuned differently to deliver a sportier performance. The engine produces 82 horsepower and 78 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

The motorcycle features a sharp design with vertically stacked LED headlights and a rakish fairing, giving it a distinctive and aggressive look. The design also includes a split seating arrangement, a decent-sized windscreen, and a cowling for improved aerodynamics. The GSX-8R is available in different color options: Metallic Matte Sword Silver, Metallic Triton Blue, Yellow, and Metallic Matte Black No.2.

Rider Comfort

Suzuki claims that the GSX-8R is rider-friendly, offering solid performance and practicality for both daily commutes and spirited rides on winding roads. The incline riding position and clip-on handlebars provide a rooted riding experience on various terrains.

Market Position and Availability

The launch of the GSX-8R comes at a time when the demand for middleweight sportbikes is on the rise in India. Suzuki aims to capture this market with the GSX-8R, which is expected to compete with other popular models like the Triumph Daytona 660 and Kawasaki Ninja 650.

The GSX-8R is now available for purchase through authorized Suzuki dealerships nationwide.
