Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 finally gets tubeless spoke wheels as MIY accessory

Written by News Team

Royal Enfield has finally introduced tubeless spoke wheels for the Himalayan 450. This long-awaited feature is now available as part of the Make It Yours (MIY) accessory program, enhancing the bike’s versatility and convenience for riders.

A Game-Changer for Adventure Riders

The Himalayan 450, known for its rugged build and off-road capabilities, now offers tubeless spoke wheels, addressing one of the most common requests from its user base. These wheels are designed to provide the benefits of traditional spoke wheels while eliminating the need for inner tubes. This innovation not only simplifies the process of fixing punctures but also enhances the bike’s overall performance and reliability on challenging terrains.

Pricing and Availability

The new tubeless spoke wheels are priced at INR 11,000 per pair and can be ordered through Royal Enfield’s official accessory catalogue. For existing Himalayan 450 owners, the wheels are available at a slightly higher price of INR 12,424 and will be available at dealerships starting October 3, 2024.

Technical Specifications

The tubeless spoke wheels, also known as cross-spoke wheels, allow riders to use tubeless tyres, which are easier to repair in case of a puncture. Instead of removing the entire wheel assembly to fix a flat, riders can now use a simple patch or a regular puncture kit. This feature is particularly beneficial for long-distance touring and off-road adventures, where quick and easy tyre repairs are crucial.

Enhancing the Himalayan 450 Experience

Apart from the introduction of tubeless spoke wheels, the Himalayan 450 remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by the robust Sherpa 450 engine, a 452 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC 4V engine that delivers 40.02 PS of power and 40 Nm of torque. The bike retains its signature features, including USD telescopic front forks, a rear mono-shock, disc brakes at both ends, and dual-channel ABS. The circular Tripper Dash remains a standard feature, providing riders with essential navigation and trip information.

Competitive Edge

In its segment, the Himalayan 450 stands out as the only adventure motorcycle offering tubeless spoke wheels. This addition is expected to boost its appeal among adventure riders and touring enthusiasts, providing a competitive edge over other models in the market.
