Honda has delisted the X Blade from its official website leading us to believe that the motorcycle has been discontinued from the Indian market. Now, in Honda’s Motorcycle portfolio the brand retails the Shine (100), CD110, Live, Shine 125, SP 125, Unicorn, SP 160, Hornet 2.0 and CB200X, in the Indian market. The low demand of the X Blade could be the reason Honda decided to pull it out of the market.
Honda launched the X Blade in the Indian market in 2018. Upon launch the motorcycle was available in 2 variants Single Disc and Dual Disc (Front+Rear). The motorcycle also came with a unique and futuristic design especially for the premium commuter segment motorcycles. Even with an attractive starting price of INR 1.05 lakh ex-showroom, back in 2020, when it was updated with a BS6 compliant engine, the brand was not able to move many units.
Styling
Style wise, Honda had revealed in the past that the X Blade was targeted towards the Millennial and Generation Z clientele. This explains the dark style Robo-faced LED headlamp and the Razor edged LED taillamp on a commuter. The X Blade also came with an aggressively sculpted fuel tank and dual outlet muffler.
Features
Feature wise, the X Blade came with a 582mm long & 337mm wide seat that provides ample space for comfortable long-distance traveling. Honda also offered the X Blade with features such as Street-Tech digital meter with advance features such as a Gear Position Indicator, Digital Clock and Service Due Indicator.
Powertrain
Powering the X Blade was the same 160cc PGM-Fi single cylinder engine with 8 on board sensors and HET (Honda Eco Technology). The engine came with a needle bearing rocker arm which helps in reduction of friction losses. The engine was also equipped with a counter weight balancer which reduces vibrations and helps in delivering smooth acceleration from low to high rpm.
