BMW Motorrad teases F900 GS for India, launch soon

BMW Motorrad India has teased the F900 GS on its occipital social media channel. The brand also revealed that the F900 GS plans to make its India debut soon. However, details of the launch date as well as the price are still under wraps.

Speculation is that the BMW Motorrad F900 GS will be positioned below the recently introduced R 1300 GS. The model will also replace the F850 GS which is currently on sale in the Indian market. The F900 GS is an upgrade to the F850 GS and comes with improvements over the cutter to motorcycle model.

The F900 GS comes with a shorter front beak as well as a flatter headlamp cluster. The bike also gets a bench-type flat seat and off-road ready equipment such as a robust skid plate and wire-spoke wheels. In addition to this, the F900 GS also features a 6.5-inch digital instruments cluster, riding modes, traction control, ABS, keyless ignition and more.

Powertrain

Powering the F900 GS is an 895cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 105 Hp of power and 93 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The powerful and torquey engine also comes with upside-down front fork suspension and a mono shock on the rear. The bike also gets dual discs on the front with 305 mm diameter and a 265mm rear disc.

Price in India

In the international market, the BMW F900 GS comes with a price tag starting at around USD 13,495 and goes Upto USD 17,286 MSRP. This roughly converts to INR 11.30 Lakh to INR 14.50 lakh. However, with taxes the motorcycle is likely to start at INR 15 Lakh in the Indian market. Currently, the F850 GS is priced at INR 12.95 Lakh ex-showroom. BMW Motorrad is likely to reveal the new motorcycle during the festive season in the Indian market.
