Bajaj ready with a 125cc rival for TVS Raider & Hero Xtreme 125R

Written by News Team

In a strategic move to capture the competitive 125 cc motorcycle segment, Bajaj Auto is preparing to launch a new model aimed squarely at rivals like the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R. This upcoming bike has been spotted undergoing testing recently.

Design and Features

The new Bajaj motorcycle is expected to feature a sporty and youthful design, reminiscent of the popular Pulsar series. Key design elements include LED headlights and tail-lights, tank extensions, and a sleek rear subframe. The bike is also likely to borrow wheels and indicators from the Pulsar N150, ensuring a modern and cohesive look.

One of the standout features of this new model is its digital display, which is similar to those found on other Pulsar models. While the larger Pulsar models offer Bluetooth connectivity, this feature is not expected to be included in the new 125 cc bike, aligning with its more compact engine size.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the new Bajaj bike is anticipated to house a 125 cc engine. While specific details about the engine are yet to be confirmed, it is speculated that it could be a modified version of the engine used in the Pulsar NS125. This would ensure a balance of power and efficiency, catering to the needs of urban commuters and young riders.

The bike’s braking system includes a front disc brake without an ABS ring and a rear drum brake, indicating that the engine displacement is likely under 125 cc. This setup complies with regulations that do not mandate ABS for bikes with engines smaller than 125 cc.

Market Positioning and Pricing

Bajaj’s new 125 cc motorcycle is poised to compete directly with the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R, both of which have established themselves as strong contenders in the segment. The TVS Raider is known for its robust performance and stylish design, while the Hero Xtreme 125R offers a blend of power and fuel efficiency.

Pricing for the new Bajaj model is expected to be competitive, with estimates suggesting a range similar to its rivals. The TVS Raider is priced between INR 95,439 and INR 1.04 lakh, and the Hero Xtreme 125R ranges from INR 95,000 to INR 99,500. Bajaj’s strategic pricing will be crucial in attracting buyers looking for value and performance.
