Mahindra & Mahindra has recently launched the Scorpio-N Adventure Edition, a more rugged version of the standard SUV, in South Africa. However, the company has not confirmed its release in India.
The Scorpio-N Adventure Edition is based on the top-spec Z8 four-wheel drive variant. It is fully equipped to tackle challenging terrains with rugged capability. The vehicle gets new bumpers, raised suspension, and more, making it an off-road-ready version.
Exterior and Interior Highlights
The biggest highlight on the outside is the revised front and rear bumper which drastically improves the approach and departure angles. The special edition of the Scorpio-N gets redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels with massive profile all-terrain tyres. Also on offer is a rugged-looking roof rack finished in black paint.
Power and Performance
Mechanically, the Scorpio-N continues to be powered by a 2.2-litre, mHawk diesel engine mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox with a 4WD configuration. This motor is tuned to generate a maximum power output of 172 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque.
Market Reception and Future Plans
The popularity of Scorpio-N is immense and the new Adventure Edition builds on that further. Mahindra has launched it in global markets like Australia and South Africa and has seen good reception from the local media.
In India, Mahindra is testing a pickup truck version based on Scorpio N and is likely to be a fitting rival to Isuzu V-Cross and Toyota Hilux. As of now, Mahindra has not confirmed the Scorpio-N Adventure Edition for India.
Pricing
In South Africa, the Scorpio-N Adventure Edition has been priced at 644,499 Rand which translates to INR. 29.6 lakh in today’s currency exchange rates.
