Tata Motors has proudly announced the roll-out of its 1 millionth car from its advanced manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat. The relentless effort and dedication of the Sanand facility team have been instrumental in reaching this milestone.
The Sanand Plant
The Sanand plant, established in 2010 and sprawling across 1100 acres – 741 acres for Tata Motors Limited (TML) and 359 acres for the Vendor Park, has been a key driver of Tata Motors’ growth and success. With over 6000 direct and indirect employees, the plant, one of Tata Motors’ youngest, is equipped with cutting-edge technology across all its processes.
The highly automated plant has implemented a lean process management system and houses a press line, weld shop, paint shop, assembly line, and powertrain shop. Known for its flexible assembly line, the facility produces a variety of passenger vehicle models including Tiago, Tiago AMT, Tiago.ev, Tiago iCNG, Tigor, Tigor AMT, Tigor EV, Tigor iCNG, and XPRES-T EV.
The plant has successfully transitioned from a single model to a multi-model facility, producing three models with 100% asset management and utilization.
