Mahindra is planning to bring the much-anticipated 5-door Thar in the Indian market by the mid-2024. Reports suggest that the brand’s executive director and CEO confirmed during an earnings call. This leads us to believe that the 5-door model is likely to make its debut in August 2024.
Mahindra 5-door Could Be Called – Thar Armada
Mahindra is likely to introduce the 5-door Thar SUV on the 15th August 2024 on the occasion of the Independence Day. In addition to this, Mahindra is also likely to call the 5-door Thar, the “Thar Armada”. The brand is also likely to produce the Thar Armada on a separate assembly line and not on the 3-door Thar. This is likely to help meet demands for both the SUVs.
Mahindra 5-Door Thar – Differentiating Features
The Mahindra Thar 5-door is likely to come with a number of differentiating factors to help distinguish itself from the 3-door model. While the SUV in itself is a longer wheelbase model with two extra doors. The brand is also likely to offer a number of features such as different light signatures to easily identify the larger SUV.
Mahindra is also likely to add more features on the interiors. The Thar 5-door is likely to be positioned as a lifestyle SUV capable of carrying the whole family. The 5-door Thar is likely to come with a large floating touchscreen infotainment system and full digital instruments cluster. The 5-door Thar is also likely to come with a large sunroof.
In addition to this, Mahindra is also likely to add more safety features to the 5-door Thar SUV. This could include multiple airbags as well. Recent spy shots revealed the the 5-door Thar will also get seat integrated Airbags. The SUV is also likely to get front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera and more.
