Mahindra has recalled over 3,000 units of the all-electric XUV400. Mahindra has said that owners of all the affected cars will be contacted to rectify the issue as soon as possible.
Mahindra XUV400 Recall Details
According to the Indian carmaker, the owners of the affected cars will be contacted by the company. Mahindra says 3,560 units of the XUV400 manufactured between 16 February 2023 and 5 June 2023 have been affected. The reason for recall is stated as the ineffective spring return action of the brake potentiometer.
Mahindra will initiate contact with the owners of the affected models and get it issue corrected free of cost.
Mahindra XUV400 : More Details
Mahindra recently launched the updated XUV400. The all-electric SUV is now priced between INR 19.19-19.39 lakh. With this, the car now gets features like cruise control, front fog lamps and two tweeters. Additional features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP), hill hold assist and auto dimming IRVM are also added. Lastly, the Mahindra XUV400 will also get a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Mahindra has targets to deliver over 20k units within a year of the launch. The first deliveries will begin in March for the XUV400 EL. Meanwhile, during the upcoming Diwali season, the XUV400 EC will roll out. The pricing is introductory, as is the case with all new Mahindra vehicles.
Furthermore, there are also plans to offer a panoramic sunroof across its XUV range. Hence, we can also expect the XUV400 to get this popular feature. However, it might arrive first on the XUV300 followed by the electric XUV400. The XUV400 facelift might get the sunroof option when it launches sometime in 2025.
Powertrain of the Mahindra XUV400
The Mahindra XUV400 comes with an electric motor good for 148 BHP and 310 Nm of torque. There are two battery options. The EC trim comes with a 34.5 kWh battery pack and EL with a larger 39.4 kWh unit. These are claimed to offer 375 and 456 km range on a single charge respectively (MIDC cycle).
The electric SUV can go from 0-100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds with a top speed of 150 kmph. The electric SUV is available in five colours with a standard warranty of 3 years/unlimited kms, plus an 8-year/160k km warranty for the battery and motor.
