Ducati has launched the prestigious Panigale V4 R in India. This price has a starting price tag of INR 69.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes with racing parts from the MotoGP and WorldSBK bikes.
The Panigale V4 R is priced at INR 69.9 lakh, which makes it one of the most expensive bikes in the Ducati stable. Despite this, the company has revealed that all 5 units allotted for the first lot have been accounted for. The deliveries are expected to commence very soon. The Ducati Panigale V4 R could be rivalled by the upcoming BMW M 1000 RR.
What’s new in the 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R?
The biggest update has been the engine. This 998cc motor dubbed as the Desmosedici Stradale R, makes 215 BHP and goes all the way upto 16,500 rpm.
In terms of aero updates, the bike now gets a smaller front wing and flaps while keeping the same aerodynamic numbers. It gets an updated fairing with improved air flow to the engine. This still complies with the WorldSBK rules. The lower left gets an intake that aids the quick shift sensors to cool down faster.
In terms of electronics, the V4 R comes with the same power modes as the V4 along with two new modes. These are the Full and Low modes. The rider display now has a dedicated track dashboard. Ducati has also updated the ride-by-wire and traction control systems and incorporated a new engine brake control strategy.
Hardware of the 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R
Based on the V4 and V4 S, the Ducati Panigale V4 R comes with front Ohlins NPX25/30 with 5 more mm of travel along with rear Ohlins TTX36 shock absorber with 20mm more height. Further, the swingarm can be adjusted in 4 steps as well.
2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R : Powertrain
Ducati’s 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R now develops 215 BHP @ 15,500 rpm. This can be enhanced to 237 BHP using an Akrapovic racing exhaust. Ducati is using a new oil co-developed with Shell that offered lower friction thus enabling higher power.
