Royal Enfield’s CKD Assembly In Nepal Details
Located in Birgunj, the new facility becomes Royal Enfield’s fifth CKD assembly unit in the world. This is after Brazil, Thailand, Colombia and Argentina. All of these are in addition to its state-of-the-art manufacturing and ancillary facilities located in Tamil Nadu, India.
Royal Enfield mentioned that this new CKD facility in Nepal is in line with the two-wheeler maker’s ambitious global. The aim is to expand the strategy of investing in markets that have the potential to grow. The two-wheeler maker is fully committed towards bringing the globally awarded line-up of motorcycles, and pure motorcycling experiences to passionate riders in Nepal.

The motorcycle market in Nepal is growing strong. There’s a confident rebound journey as Royal Enfield is witnessing a huge potential for the market to grow substantially. Pre-pandemic the motorcycle segment in Nepal stood at nearly 1.7 million units per year. Now almost 60 per cent to 65 per cent of that is motorcycles sold in the >150cc premium segment. Royal Enfield expects the market expected to grow at 10 per cent to 15 per cent in upcoming years. Thus, Royal Enfield believes that the trend of premiumisation of motorcycles will add to Royal Enfield’s resilient, reliable and high-torque machines.
Royal Enfield believes that this facility marks an important chapter in the journey in the Nepal market.
