Maruti Suzuki has released its monthly sales figure. For the month of February 2023, India’s largest carmaker sold a total sales of 172,321 units. This figure in comparison to the same month in the previous year, i.e. January 2022, domestic sales stood at 150,823 units. On the other hand, the sales to other OEMs stand at 4,291 units.
In terms of international business, the export figure for the company stood at 17,207 units for February 2023. Maruti Suzuki again iterates that there are still some issues with manufacturing due to a shortage in the supply of semiconductor chips. But this had a minor impact on the production of vehicles. It was mainly for domestic models. The company has made sure that they are taking all the necessary measures to minimise the impact and ramp up production and boost the sales significantly.
Maruti Suzuki’s Detailed Sales Detailed Breakup
Maruti Suzuki’s Mini segment comprises S-Presso and Alto. The company retailed a total of 21,875 units. Meanwhile, for the Compact segment adds for the maximum sales. Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 79,898 units. This segment includes the brand’s top sellers like Swift, Dzire, Baleno Celerio, Ignis, Tour S, and WagonR.
Sales for Maruti Suzuki’s mid-size segment that only comprises Ciaz, stood at 792 units. In the Utility vehicles segment, for which we have Ertiga, Brezza S-Cross and XL6, Maruti Suzuki sold 33,550 units. Eeco comes under the Van segment, selling a total of 11,352 units of sales. Accounting for all, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 147,467 units for its entire passenger vehicle segment in the Indian domestic market.
In the Light Commercial Vehicle segment, we have the Super Carry. This sold a total of 3,356 units. Thus, summing up both passenger and light commercial vehicles, the total Domestic Sales for Maruti Suzuki stood at 150,823 units.
