Engine downsizing is now becoming one of the trends due to tighter emission norms, better fuel and improving technology. The Audi R8, too, has fallen victim to this and hence the German carmaker has announced a 333 limited edition model to mark the end of the V10 era of the sports car. Deliveries of the  new Audi R8 GT RWD will commence from 2023 with prices starting at 225,000 Euros.

The new Audi R8 V10 GT RWD is the final edition of the sports car to feature the iconic 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 power unit. Audi had previously suggested that it would be ending production of the engine to focus on its electrification goals.

In terms of design, the new car gets blacked-out badging for the Audi logo at the front and at the back. Audi will offer a special Matte Suzuka Grey paint job on this limited edition mode. Other colour options will include Daytona Grey and Tango Red Metallic. The car rides on 20-inch forged wheels shod in Michelin Cup 2 tyres with carbon ceramic brakes as standard kit.

On the inside, the 2022 R8 V10 GT gets sporty red accents – somewhat nostalgic to the 2010 version. A numbered plaque is also given, showcasing its limited-edition nature. It gets bucket seats, roll bars in carbon fibre and more.

The Audi R8 V10 GT is propelled from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 320 km/h. The 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox is also improved to have faster shift times and better gear ratios to achieve speedier acceleration.
