Skoda Auto India continued its steady run in July 2022 with the sale of 4,447 cars. Skoda mentioned that this is usually the period where customers keep big car purchases on hold. With the monsoon and the festive season kicking off, customers are more inclined towards having new products during that period.
Yet, Skoda has clocked in significant numbers on the back of their INDIA 2.0 cars, the KUSHAQ and the SLAVIA. The OCTAVIA and SUPERB are also doing well in their respective segments. And the KODIAQ is already sold out for the entire year after its launch in January. Thus, Skoda aims to keep up this energy. Chances are high that 2022 will become the biggest year for Skoda in their 2-decade legacy in India.
Skoda’s India 2.0 Project
July 2022 also marks the first anniversary of the first product under INDIA 2.0, the KUSHAQ, going on sale. July 2021 was when the debut of an all-new, rejuvenated Skoda Auto India happened. Under its INDIA 2.0 strategy on the back of the made-for-India, made-in-India MQB-A0-IN platform, this was a massive transition. Its debut set the ball rolling on a host of updates and changes in Skoda Auto’s India business. This was evident in the products as well as in the customer service experience as well.
Skoda has expanded its touchpoints aggressively, penetrating the service network deeper and wider across India. We have also seen the launch slew of customer-centric innovations and maintenance and ownership packages. All these add up perfectly to make owning a Skoda a hassle-free affair.
The Current State Of Skoda In India
Currently, Skoda Auto India has already crossed 205+ customer touchpoints from 175 in December 2021. This has led to the company improving its projections to 250 touchpoints instead of the 225 it had earlier set itself. Skoda Auto has brought in some radical changes in the overall customers’ experience. The in-the-car purchase experience for customers now includes fully digitalised showrooms.
Moreover, Skoda Auto India has been pushing the envelope with warranty packages, adding to the peace of mind. Compared to the standard 3-year warranty, Skoda Auto India provides a 4-year/100,000 km, whichever earlier warranty, as standard. In addition to this, there’s a 2-year/unlimited km Parts and Battery Warranty, and a standard 6-year Corrosion Warranty and 3-year Paint Warranty on all car lines.
