The Honda ADV 160 has made its debut in the Indonesian market. At a glance, the new ADV 160 looks similar to the ADV 150, which is also available in South East Asia and some US markets. However, closer inspection reveals that the scooter is not only slightly powerful but also comes with upgraded equipment.
Honda ADV 160 – Design and Features
The Honda ADV 160 comes with an upright maxi-scooter design with rugged styling. The ADV 160 features LED headlamps, LED DRLs, a large windscreen and large under-seat storage. The ADV 160 also comes with a new full-digital instruments cluster which helps differentiates it from the ADV 150. Apart from the full digital instruments cluster, the scooter also comes with traction control and dual-channel ABS. Honda also offers the ADV 160 with bronze multispoke alloy wheels, an upswept exhaust step-over design and large seating.
Honda ADV 160 – Technical Specifications
Powering the Honda ADV 160 is 156cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. The motor is capable of producing 16 Hp of power and 14.7 Nm of torque matched to an automatic transmission. The new model makes 1.4 Hp of power and 0.9 Nm of torque more than the ADV 150. The scooter also comes with an approachable 785mm of seat height and 30 litres of storage. To put things into perspective, the Yamaha Aerox 155, which is the only liquid-cooled scooter in India, comes with a 155cc four-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 15 PS of power and 13.9 Nm of torque.
Will it come to India?
Honda reportedly filed the ADV 150 design patents in the Indian market, which leads us to believe that the brand could be planning to launch the scooter in India. However, there is no information on when the brand plans to launch the ADV 160 in India. But, if Honda launches the ADV 160 in the Indian market, it will rival the Yamaha Aerox 155, which remains unchallenged in the 150cc liquid-cooled maxi-scooter segment.
