Jeep recently announced that the brand will soon launch the new 3-row Jeep Meridian SUV in the Indian market. Recently, the brand also revealed the Jeep Meridian with camouflage wrap and announced that the SUV is currently under test on the Indian terrain. Now, Jeep has revealed some more details on the Meridian, along with an image of the vehicle sans camouflage. The brand has also given us a glimpse of the interiors of the Jeep Meridian and also revealed that the SUV will come with only a diesel powertrain.
Jeep Meridian – Powertrain and Trims
Jeep has revealed that the new Meridian will come with three powertrains and two trims offered in diesel only. In addition to this, the brand reveals that the Jeep Meridian will come with best-in-class acceleration thanks to superior engineering and an optimised power-to-weight ratio. The 3-row SUV will also be the first in its segment to have independent front and rear suspension. The Jeep Meridian will also come with the American brand’s legendary off-road capability superior on-road driving dynamics thanks to the advanced 4×4 driveline.
Jeep Meridian – Exteriors and Interiors
On the outside, the Jeep Meridian comes with features such as a prominent signature Jeep grille. The SUV also comes with sleek headlamps and knurled chrome accents. The Meridian also gets bumper integrated fog lamps and chrome accents. The car also features a dual-tone colour theme with a black roofline and squared-off wheel arches.
On the inside, the Meridian also comes with a large touchscreen infotainment system which is likely to come with connected car technologies. A multilayered dashboard with dark chrome accents and soft-touch panels. The 3-row SUV appears to come with a 2+3+2 seating configuration with contoured seats and brown leather upholstery.
Jeep Meridian – Production
The Jeep Meridian will be manufactured in India, and the brand will have nearly 80 per cent localisation. The brand also revealed that the production of the Meridian would commence in May at Jeep’s Ranjangaon Joint Venture Manufacturing Facility in Pune.
