HMIL Bluelink Championship: Rules, Regulation & Uses

Introduced in 2019, Hyundai brought the Bluelink connected car technology with its Venue sub-compact SUV to the Indian market. In the last two years, the connected car tech has been adopted by numerous customers for its convenience and safety. HMIL has stated that it will continue to introduce more digital initiatives as thoughtful innovations for the Indian customers. The automaker aims to develop driving awareness among its customers and help improve their driving style and performance.

Hyundai has targeted the Bluelink championship to their customers in order to teach them the importance of driving behaviour. During the championship, Hyundai will judge the participants on the basis of smooth driving, over-speeding, sudden braking & acceleration, distance travelled, etc. HMIL will then analyze the mapping of the participant’s Bluelink system and award a driving score from 0-100. This will also allow the Hyundai Bluelink technology to offer tips to Hyundai customers on how to improve their driving.

Hyundai has also stated that customer participation is entirely optional and governed by the terms and conditions of the program. HMIL will only consider the driving data of those Indian customers who registered for the Bluelink Championship. Additionally, Hyundai’s Bluelink system offers in-car safety features such as SOS, Road-side Assistance & Call-Center Assistance. Hyundai customers can also download the Bluelink smartphone app to perform various remote functions.
