Bookings re-open for Ola S1 electric scooter

Ola Electric has reopened its order books in the Indian market for the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooters. Now customers will be able to pay the amount of INR 499 through Ola’s official website. Ola Electric has taken it to the microblogging site Twitter to spread this news. The electric mobility brand had commenced bookings on the Ola S1 and S1 Pro in the Indian market on 15th July 2021.

In just one day from opening its order books, the brand received 1 lakh bookings. On 15th September, the brand announced that the Ola Electric S1 and S1 Pro are open for purchase. The purchase offer was only for a limited period and with an advance payment of INR 20,000. The brand claims to have received INR 1,100 crore worth of orders in the short span.

Ola Electric S1 and S1 Pro – Price

The Ola S1 electric scooter comes with a sticker price of INR 99,999 ex-showroom. On the other hand, the higher-specification Ola S1 Pro comes with a price tag of INR 129,999 ex-showroom. In Maharashtra, the brand offers the Ola S1 at the price of INR 94,999 ex-showroom. The S1 Pro comes with a price tag of INR 124,999 ex-showroom. On top of this, the Government of Maharashtra offers an INR 5,000/kWh subsidy. The government has capped the subsidy at INR 10,000. 

Additionally, the government offers an early bird incentive of INR 15,000, making the subsidy go up to INR 25,000 in Maharashtra. The Ola S1 comes with a battery capacity of 2.98kWh, and the S1 Pro gets a battery pack rated to 3.97kWh, and both are eligible to receive the state subsidy. But it is important to note that the Government of Maharashtra will only provide incentives on the sales of the first 1 lakh vehicles.

Ola Electric S1 and Ola S1 Pro – Powertrain and Range

The Ola electric S1 and S1 Pro come with an 8.5 kW hyperdrive electric motor. The electric motor is capable of propelling the electric bike from 0-40 kmph in just 3.6 seconds. The brand also claims that the S1 can achieve a top speed of 90 kmph. The Ola S1 is also capable of returning a range of 121 km on a single charge. The Ola S1 pro is tuned to sprint from 0-40 kmph in just 3 seconds. The electric scooter can also achieve a top speed of 115 kmph and returns a range of 181 km on a single charge.
